The Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple (Malayalam: ശ്രീ പത്മനാഭസ്വാമി ക്ഷേത്രം, Sree Padmanabhaswamy Kshetram) is located in the centre of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala. The temple is one of 108 principal Divya Desams (“Holy Abodes”) in Vaishnavism. The temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandha, the early medieval Tamil literature canon of the Tamil Alvar saints (6th–9th centuries AD)

In 2011, an Indian Supreme court inventory order uncovered temple treasures in one of the underground vaults (Kallara) with an estimated value of INR 1.2 trillion (US$20 billion) excluding values regarding antiquity. Since then, an expert committee has been appointed to investigate these objects, which include coins of the Roman Empire.
